Specifically, who would they most like to “be” on October 31st ?  I trust that you will allow me to be your guide to the purchase of TV and movie costumes. I will illustrate the most prominent, the most important, and the most necessary [to be seen in], of course. The site[s] that I recommend that you make your purchases from will offer the best prices, discounts, and quickest deliveries [to the absolute best of my ability and research].

The story of Halloween story begins over 2,000 years ago in one area that today comprises the United Kingdom, Ireland, and a section of France where a group of people known as Celts celebrated Samhain on November 1 – their New Year. This celebration also denoted the commencement of Winter with its cold and blackness coupled with the termination of Summer and its warmth and sunshine. The Winter season in their belief was related to death and, most importantly for us, the night before Samhain – the separations between the living and the dead became intermingled.

The longest-running favorites for most teenagers are Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley while a large percentage of this age group will dress as those characters involved in their favorite movie and television series or musical  performers.

Obviously, dressing for the street and ‘trick or treating’ will be somewhat different than dressing for a house party, The former will require tights in coordinating colors to the costume with light sweaters underneath the tops while the latter can be as authentic as the wearer feels comfortable.

Little girls love bright colors and flashy outfits so that they will be remarked upon more consistently. The statistics say that slim ball gowns with lurex and crowns will be prominent that night. There will be the abundant number of princesses in view such as Fairies, Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and many others. The brave ones will appear as witches and skeletons just to name a few.

Young boys will want to emulate their heroes – GI Joe, Optimus Prime, Batman, Spider Man…and others. This year there is some talk about American Pioneer costumes for both sexes….they are available from the bigger costumes suppliers.

TV and movie costumes will be extremely important this year due to the number of children-oriented and animated movies that have appeared in our local theaters. We could name Transformers, GI Joe, Star Trek, Wolverine [including claws, of course], and Harry Potter as a few examples. All of these character costumes will be available online for your children [of most ages], adults [male and female], and plus sizes. I emphasize again – the site[s] that I will link you to will be the most complete for all your needs for Halloween.

Michael Jackson costumes of varying descriptions are also available this year and, judging by the renewed demand for his music and other memorabilia, his ‘look’ will be in large evidence on our streets on the evening of October 31st, this year.

Finally, I trust that the information contained in this report will be of assistance to you in your decision-making process and that TV and movie costumes will be your choice of costuming for your family this year.

Thank you for your interest in TV and movie costumes – be very diligent on October 31st – all of our children are precious  – and enjoy the celebration.
